Moving to Lubbock
When you're moving from another city or state, a home search comes with extra questions. I'm Josh Lashaway with Williams & Company Real Estate. I help relocating buyers connect the online search with the local details they need to make a decision.
Plan your move with me · Share your home-search priorities
Start with your everyday needs
Tell me where you'll work, the places you'll visit regularly, your preferred budget, and how you want the home to function. A commute to Texas Tech, the medical district, downtown, or another workplace can lead to different search priorities.
We'll compare properties using the factors you choose: commute, lot and home size, age, maintenance, amenities, and price. If a particular school assignment matters, confirm the address and current boundaries directly with the district before relying on a listing description.
Make your time in town useful
If you can visit, we can organize showings around the most relevant options. Before the trip, I'll help you narrow the list and identify the questions that require a closer look in person.
If you're still out of town, live or recorded video tours can help you understand layout, condition, surroundings, and details the listing photos don't explain. We'll also be clear about what a video can't establish and what needs a professional inspection or your own visit.
Questions relocating buyers ask
“Can I start before I know Lubbock well?”
Yes. Start with your budget, timing, daily destinations, and must-haves. We'll use those priorities to compare locations and properties without expecting you to know every neighborhood first.
“What should I ask to see during a video tour?”
Ask for the route through the home, room connections, storage, garage, yard, adjacent properties, and any visible condition concerns. Tell me what the photos leave unanswered so the tour addresses your questions.
“How do I coordinate a sale in another city?”
Tell me the status of your current home and any related financing or timing requirements. With your permission, we can coordinate the Lubbock purchase timeline with the people handling that sale.
“Can closing be handled while I'm away?”
We'll discuss your location and availability early with the lender and title company. Signing and identification requirements need to be confirmed for your transaction before travel plans are finalized.
A move plan beyond finding the house
We'll keep track of inspections, contract deadlines, the final walkthrough, closing arrangements, and possession. You can also plan ahead for utilities, moving access, and any work needed before move-in.
